The Tulip Festival was inaugurated in 1984 by the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce. Eventually, the festival became an entity of its own. From just 3 days long at first, the festival is now the full month of April. Take a drive through the lush fields of tulips that are scattered over Skagit Valley or visit several farms that open their fields to the public for an up close view and pictures. The festival now consists of more than just flowers, but from the Mount Vernon Street Fair to the Youth Basketball Tournament and much more. Visit their website for more information on the Pacific Northwest’s one of a kind destination.
